We help you choose the right capacity, brand and position, then install it cleanly so it runs quietly and keeps its manufacturer warranty. Eligible upgrades attract Victorian Energy Upgrades discounts, and we handle the paperwork.

What to look for
- Correct capacity for the room. Under-sized units run flat out; over-sized ones cycle and waste power.
- Energy Star rating. Higher stars mean lower bills every summer and winter.
- R32 refrigerant. Roughly 70% lower global-warming potential than R410A and less energy to reach temperature.
- DC inverter compressor for smooth, quiet, efficient operation.
- Wi-Fi control so you can switch on from the car on the way home.
- Sound level, especially for bedrooms. Quiet modes as low as 18 dB are available.
Standard back-to-back installation includes
- Indoor unit on an external wall with the outdoor unit directly behind it
- Up to 3 m of refrigerant pipe between the two units
- Up to 15 m of electrical circuit from the meter box to the outdoor unit
- Wall penetration, capping, ducting and an isolating switch to Australian standards
- Outdoor unit on an existing flat, level surface or wall bracket
- Commissioning, a run-through of the remote, and all packaging removed

- Longer pipe runs or an outdoor unit on the roof
- Indoor unit on an internal wall (may need a condensate pump)

Questions we get asked
- What size split system do I need?
- As a rule of thumb, about 2.5 kW cools a 20 m² bedroom and 7 kW covers a 55 m² living area. Ceiling height, insulation, windows and sun exposure all matter, so we confirm the size when we quote.
- Do you supply the unit or can I buy my own?
- Both. We supply and install Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu at competitive prices, or we can install a unit you have already bought.
- Will the installation affect my warranty?
- Only if it is done wrong. Manufacturers require installation by a licensed technician to Australian standards. We hold ARC licence L162322 and install to those standards, so your warranty stays intact.
- Can I get a government rebate on a split system?
- Often, yes. Replacing an old electric heater or inefficient air conditioner with an approved high-efficiency unit can attract a Victorian Energy Upgrades discount. We check eligibility and handle the paperwork so the discount comes off your invoice.
